Polaski as Brünnhilde in Götterdämmerung

This is Deborah Polaski as Brünnhilde in the final scene of Der Ring des Nibelungen from Bayreuth. This production ran from 1994 to 1999. It is often called the Rosalie Ring. Although this Ring was staged by Alfred Kirchner, it was the set and costumes made by Rosalie that one remembers.

I attended the Richard Wagner Festival in1997 (the year this TV/DVD production is from). I was fortunate to meet Deborah Polaski at a book signing. She was very nice. When asked what she thought of the costumes, she answered: "You do what you gotta do."

Conductor - James Levine
Brünnhilde - Deborah Polaski
